Rett Syndrome Clinic

The UAB Rett Clinic is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals directed by Alan Percy, MD, and provides care and education to families of children of all ages, females and males with Rett syndrome or with MECP2 mutations. The UAB Rett Clinic is one of the few clinics in the United States that specializes in the diagnosis and care of individuals with Rett Syndrome. The clinic provides care for families nationwide as well as from around the world.

The team is also involved with Rett syndrome research through participation in the NIH Rare Disease Network.  and is part of a Rett Consortium which includes Baylor College of Medicine and Greenwood Genetic Center.

The International Rett Syndrome Foundation is a non-profit organization for parents, interested professionals, and others concerned with Rett Syndrome. The core mission of the IRSF is to fund research for real treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with Rett syndrome by providing connections to information, services, advocacy and awareness programs.
